63rd Independence Day…
What we have achieved in these 63 years, I asked my students.
Population
Technology
Buildings
Crimes
Economy (to some extent)
Poverty
Pollution
These are some of the important fields in which India tremendously amplified, they said.
On Independence Day late in the evening I went to an orphan home called “Forum for Street Children”. All the pupils are standing one upon other and made a pyramid structure over a little boy stood saluted the national flag.
Some programs hosted in the home, firstly Mr. J.P.Rao gave a speech on INDIAN NATIONAL PLEDGE…
He asked
Who is author of national song?
Bankim Chandra Chaterjee
Who is author of national anthem?
Rabindranath Tagore
Who is the author of national pledge?
Hmmmm………nobody answered.
Seriously, I never thought of national pledge writer, but we use to read it daily in the morning assembly. There is no particular person but the origin is from Swami Vivekananda, he said.
Mr. J.P. Rao, explained each of the eight lines in national pledge in detail. It was awesome.
A puppet show has been organized by “STEPARC”…
Pupils enjoyed the show…we were given refreshments and tea.
