Republic India over 65 years!

India celebrating 66th Republic day with the NAMO government. A lot of newbies added to the grand Rajpath show.

The chief guest was the US President, Barack Obama. This is the first time ever in the Indian history where the US President invited as a guest of honour on Republic Day.
What we achieved in these 65 years of independent, Republic India?
We advanced in population, politics, technology, education, economy, urbanisation, entrepreneurship, foreign investment, transportation, telecommunication, medication, industrialisation, the list goes on. Among all IT industry has mushroomed over a decade making all the major cities a IT hub. That's a good sign of our economy.People of India are becoming educated, the literacy rate has jumped from 18.33% to 74.04% in these 65 years, however, we could still see the gap between male and female literacy rate.

India is the biggest manpower nation; investing more in employees than in entrepreneurs. Rupee rate decreasing gradually, as we're used to and rely on foreign products in every core of our daily life. We have lot of companies, even though people fly overseas not just for good pay, but for a better living. Political blame game, scams, road/train mishaps, rapes, kidnaps, burglary, suicide are the routine news in our daily news papers. But our attitude is hardly today's newspaper, tomorrows waste paper!
People of India are genius, patriotic, humble as well. We need these characters to be come in the rows of implementation. One day we could see our rupee jumping high over dolllar. Hope that day comes...

Indian Bahu (DIL)

A girl's life changes totally with wedding...Now she has to take up a lot many things granted. They are not allowed to go out freely, always accompany a male to go out (embarrasing). They have to cook for sure, but the menu will be decided by the mother-in-law, moreover, the way you cook should be forgotten; because you need to cook according to their style (too spicy or oily).

Our Indian culture ranges of any other cultures...the daughter-in-law should not sit on the chair if any of the elders are there in the premises. You need to sit on the floor most of the day...you should not sleep late in the morning, Indian 'bahu'(daughter-in-law) should wake up early in the morning. She has to take head bath(if she sleeps with her husband)  then come to kitchen for starting daily chores.
Kitchen is the drawing room, recreation room for a bahu. She has to prepare 'tea' a dozen times in a day, prepare according to their taste(hot or light) serve hot with a smile on face. She has to serve everyone and then she has to eat/drink the leftover in the dish.
Most of the middle-class families cannot afford a maid, bahu has to perform all duties - washing clothes, vessels, mopping floor, cleaning the floor, cooking etc.
Dressing - Indian Bahus has to wear saree in the home, nighties and chudidaars are also allowed these days but in few homes only. However, wearing jeans & tees are a dream...we are not allowed to wear sleevless blouses on sarees or other dresses. In front of the relatives and elders, Bahu has to cover her head with saree 'pallu' (a corner of the saree).
ornaments - bangles, Mangalsutra/black beads, toe rings are symbols of Indian Bahu. She should wear it at home for 24 hours...while going to a wedding, the Bahu has wear the things mentioned above along with all the jewelry given to her in the wedding. In a nutshell she looks like a mini gold shop. After all, it's a kind of showing off their bahu's jewelry to take proud in the community.
Socialization - Indian Bahu, should not step out without the permission of her husband and mother-in-law. The Bahu has no freedom to see her parents when she likes, she needs to seek permission from all the elders  to see her parents (pathetic). She should not go out or peep through window when any procession going at the outdoors. She is not allowed for any fitness programs like yoga, gym or aerobics. Mother-in-law says, doing the chores itself keep us physically fit, so no need of any external fitness mantras.
Financial freedom - Most of the Indian Bahus are housewives, they're not allowed to work outside home though are talented than their spouse. She needs to beg her husband for each single penny.
Indian Bahus are made (maid) to do all the  household chores to their husband's family for free of cost. They can't raise their voice against.

This post is a resemblance of a typical Indian daughter-in-law in every other door.

The poorest of the poor...the Animals!

Feeling dizzy about the animals I am seeing around! Summer is scorching, people are boiling and burning in the hot mercury. We consume a lot of water, drinks, fruits etc to keep ourselves hydrate in this hot summer.
Then what about those creatures...which born like us on the same planet, breathe like us, eat like us, live and die like us! Yes, I am talking about animals, abandoned animals on the streets - dogs, cows, cats, goats etc.

We enjoy variety food, neatly cleaned, cooked and served with lots of clean water, but these animals don't have at least bore water to drink.
We wash our clothes and utensils with gallons of clean water, but these animals don't have access to a drop of clean water to quench it's thirst.
We humans, bath daily once or twice with one or two buckets of clean water, some well to do people bath in tubs or swimming pools, but these animals aren't getting a half a bucket of water in this hot summer.

People water their lawns and gardens with tanks of water, but these animals are dying out of thirst.
We use clean drinking water to flush our toilets, but these animals are craving for a few drops of drinking water.

We spend the water as if our birth right, but these animals too have the same right to use water like us.
We humans, selfish humans, pumping all the river water to metros, sourcing it to power plants, industries and other commercial purposes. Water bodies like tanks and bunds are converting to real estate, housing areas.

We see animals on the roads feeding on the garbage dumps. The vegetable markets, fruit markets garbage are the dining for cows. They rush to the markets in the evening to grab their meal. Vendors are little happy, as the rotten and dried veggies are cleaning up with these cows.
However, the cows are craving for water. These cattle are drinking drainage water to quench it's thirst. Dogs and cats feed on the left overs from a slaughter house garbage, however, these carnivores too need water. Most of the dogs are licking the drainage water pits.
It's pathetic! We have a lot of clean water in household, still not satisfied, complaining and fighting for more water. Then what about these animals! they don't have access to a drop of drinking water.
In addition, 40% of water is wasted due to leakage of pipes everyday. We are wasting water through mismanagement as well.
Humans wants are unending! We, humans have become so selfish; never care the fellow creatures, instead making them shelter-less, killing indirectly.

There is point percent population working towards these abandoned animals, like - 'Goushalas', 'Bluecross', and some small NGO's taking care of orphaned and abandoned animals.

We can give a small hope to these animals by -
  • Placing water in containers at public places (like water camp for pedestrains).
  • Construct mini tanks in the areas near by markets
  • Place water on the terrace for birds.
  • Keep change left over water every day, and refill it with clean water.
  • And do not waste water, save water!

The ill treatment for the poor!

Carrying bodies, tribal women lead protests against cops -
Bastar has seen several protests but rarely have tribal women come out and beat their breasts, shouting slogans. Surprisingly, men tried to calm them down, pull them away but these women continued to scream and hurled stones at the Gangalur police station and nearby CRPF camp.
Old and young women were protesting while carrying bodies of their husbands and sons, handed over to them around 1 pm on Sunday. They knew only Gondi and Halbi but managed a few Hindi abuses. "Wapas jao... wapas jao..," they shouted at the CRPF camp as they laid down the bodies at the thana gate and tried to break open its lock. Two old women rattled barbed fencing of the CRPF camps and threw stones at the personnel on guard, forcing them to run for cover. "Raman Sarkar murdabaad, murdaabaad." Some of them hurled utensils inside the thana. "Stop killing tribals; kill us now, if you dare."
All the deceased were men; two of them father and sons — Karam Joga and his son Badru (13), Karam Pandu and his son Guddu (14). The other minor boy killed was Punem Lakhu (15).
The agony did not end with their death. The bodies were lying in open field, under 45 degree sun, decomposing, badly swollen and emanating unbearable smell. CRPF men, face covered, guarded them with X-95, AK-47 with an Under Barrel Grenade Launcher.
"Jara pet par chira laga," a doctor said. He too had his face covered. A man, Suklu, came forward and cut open a naked body. Red worms protruded out from stomach. "Dead bodies become like balloon. When you cut them, they produce fart like sound," a CRPF cop explained. Relatives of the deceased held the bodies as the doctor examined the bodies with a stick, from a distance.
"Don't you have another blade, a new one," Civil Surgeon Dr B R Pujari asked his colleagues. Only two blades were used so far, and five bodies had been cut open from various sides, the doctor thought of changing the blade. But there was none. Suklu did not change surgical gloves through the process.

BEACH

It was my long time and short term goal to see a BEACH! Planned a couple of times to visit some sea shores in the state. But couldn't make it. We girls in India are not allowed to go alone far off places, eventhough we are in a position to handle. When I got to chat with a friend of mine in the USA, he asked me a question, what do I do in the free time. I simply said, sit at home reading books and watching television. "Oh! why don't you go on a world tour, we Americans just need a horse and onions to go on a world tour!" Unfortunately, we girls of this country are hardly allowed to go out of the district border.

Finally, I have seen beach with a wedding invitation! It was my colleague's wedding in Guntur district.  Seeking permission from Indian parents is not an easy task... Mom's questions list: "How many girls are going to the trip? Where do you stay? Where do you eat? When do you return? What is the budget?"
Orders/suggestions: "Wear only chudidhars. Do not get into the water, see the beach from far distance. Call me every one hour, also pick my call, don't ignore.  Eat on time. Don't waste money buying unwanted stuff...blah blah...!"

Here I'm portraying a mother from typical Indian middle-class. She wants safety of her daughter, as we are living in a country where girls are blamed for - wearing western costumes, going out after 9pm, talking with boys, falling in love, getting physically abused etc.

Touching sea water for the first time!

Though short period of time, I enjoyed to the fullest in the waters of Bay of Bengal. I become crazy seeing water! In the last life I must be a marine animal :P
welcoming waves!

awesome climate, with moderate waves!

I was amazed to see the age old transport rickshaw, and has it's demand pretty well.

How can one miss chance to ride in the rickshaw!

cute pupils pushing the rickshaw which I'm riding in!

giving pose for the snap sitting in the rickshaw :)

Spotted few teenagers in the wedding hall. They are school dropouts, joined as cleaners under caterers. When I asked why did they stop going school, they said that school education was not interesting. I suggested them to set up a business by taking loans from SHG!

A national Shame!

Angry, tears, protest, agitation…were the reactions underwent when read about Delhi gang-rape in the moving bus. Tears were rolling down for each word while reading the pathetic incidence. The paramedical student was brutally raped and injured by group of boys. Why do they do to a woman in that inhuman manner! in fact animals are hundred and one times better than these rogues! What's the pleasure out of such insane act they got it...don't they think of their women at home...where is the humanity...? This pathetic incident touched every heart of the Indian, and couldn't keep quiet...
Students in Delhi are venting out their anger protesting day and night at secretariat, Indian Gate and at President's and CM’s residence. Withstanding the tear gas, water cannons in the cold winter, laticharge by police, receiving as a reward for the peaceful protest; whole country is agitating and protesting the act. On the other hand government has kept silent or speaking nothing much about the incident.

Who are responsible:
  • The girl with her friend travelling in that bus, but they have chosen a wrong bus…
  • The girls’ friend could have fight more till he die, or by beating them in their private parts…
  • The windows were curtained…
  • There were no cops in the area where the bus travelled, so called posh Delhi…
And the reasons line up like a pile, whatsoever, can we change the past? It’s all happened in the CAPITAL of India the Delhi…is it not a national shame! Cops couldn't able to provide security for aam aadmi [common people]  in the capital city, what can we expect in a far away rural India…

What we need?
  • Enact a bill/law against rapist, punish them in the public
  • Ensure 24/7 security for all the people in the nation
  • Change the rigid mindset of the cops- when a rape victim approaches P.S. the cops should not double rape them with words
  • Need more women cops and the protection cells
  • Stop saying/advising what women should wear
  • Educate the male people right from their childhood, on how to respect and honour women
  • Indian cinemas must stop showing the women as a mere flesh to use...
  • Government should react promptly for any such kind of incidents

What's your say on FDI in retail

FDI in retail is the burning issue in the latest. Mamta didi gave a big blow to the congress by withdrawing her support. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and some states are against to the FDI in retail investment. UPA rallying to explain the benefits of FDI in retail.
FDI[Foreign Direct Investment] in retail policy has two sides of the coin. One is benefiting farmers to sell their crops in the foreign markets (don’t know the actual terms & conditions), generates employment to uneducated, develops cold storage chains, avoids damage of food perishables etc. On the other side, small and big retailers viz. kirana stores will affect for sure; they lose employment and come to the streets. In A.P. there are around 1.3 crore kirana stores. Experts says that there is no profit or no loss in  welcoming FDI in retail; whereas, opposition says that the profits will go to the foreign banks and the existing retailers will affect adversely.
As per my knowledge the farmers income is arbitrary, they are being deceived by a chain of mediator and big retailers in the country from the days since independence. Consumers are paying ten times to what the retailer's cost price is. In this scenario it is advisable to support FDI in retail market to save the farmers and consumers as well. What is your say?
