District level Science Exhibition

My exams are just week ahead. I’m studying at snail speed. One of my students of class-10 is participating in Science exhibition the theme was “Biodiversity and its importance”. She (Swathi) asked me few points to for her presentation. I went to see the exhibition with few of my students. It is organized at Govt high School Nallugutta, Secunderabad. This is Hydereabad's District level Science Exhibition. Most of the schools are expected to participate in it , however, I saw only few schools. Coming to presentation, each pupil varying in their presentation skills. I was amazed to see the sixth class kid’s body language, their enthu, in presenting their model.

These two girls came all the way from old city, presented how to draw a parabola on a geo-board and find the solution of a quadratic equation. Also shown the application of parabola in daily life.



Here is the guy who invented a lift using the principals of Pascals law and gears. He demonstrated the working of the lift, it was really great.

Innovative idea; a three stand frame work. In the first stand small chicks are rared, the floor of the frame was netted so that the chick dropping will fall into the fish pond which is placed in the second frame. The fishes eats the chick dropping, also the water from the fish pound is cleaned frequently and that water is used in farming which is placed in the third frame.





These girls are from SPG school, Telugu medium. Concept was Pollution, the first girl explained the causes and effects of pollution and second girl explained the measures to be taken. I liked their language though.




Jasneeth Singh from Auxilium school, concept was 'low cost project'. It was very informative about satellites and their usage by army. Also they presented the Nagasaki and Hiroshima disasters...it was good, and I'm expecting that they might win this competition.




Interlinking the south and north rivers is their concept in the exhibition. By interlinking the rivers there won't be any water scarcity in the southern India. The BJP has already proposed this project in loksabha but it did not get approval yet; they said.



Metro Rail project model, by Brahmam Talent school was awesome. It was informative though. She explained the rail lines from area to area and compared the time taken by road transport and the Metro train. I liked it.



Also the DIET college students taken part in the exhibition.
He is illustrating how much weight(reservations, support etc) needed for a woman to uplift in the society.

Joy of giving week

Giving makes us more joy than taking. That’s why it is said “Joy of giving”. People feel happy sharing things, clearing the doubts of the buddies, giving night food to the street beggars... Well, people have their own interest in contributing for the society; some wanna do it monetarily, kindly, or morally. It depends. In my view, any guy who is earning a sum of 5digit per month should contribute at least 10% of his salary towards a social cause. In fact, I do that. People wanna donate but they feel it’s not reliable to donate to any Home or NGO. So, NGO’s or homes must maintain transparency in their transaction of funds.

I attended a 'Karmayog Seva Mela' Karmayog has organised a Seva Mela at Hyd by bringing in NGO's together on Oct1 and Oct2. The venue was Kowtha Kamakoti Kalyana Mandapam, Padmaraonagar, Secunderabad. The venue is being sponsored ny Kowtha Trust and stalls are being sponsored by Naamdhari Events.

I went there on Oct2 evening, I couldn't make it on the first day because 1st term exams are going for my students. Well, the hall seemed to be full of crowd with wide range of stalls and skits and dramas going on the stage. A mute drama by 4 children was simply awesome.

Next programme by students of SriVidhya's, performed a group dance. Interesting thing is they are mentally retarded children. Sri Vidhya's certre for the special children is at East Marredpally, Secunderabad. www.srividhya.org

They involves a range of activities aimed at developing:

• Motor skills like walking, running and climbing stairs.
• Fine motor skills like atta kneading and threading
• Skills for daily living such as brushing teeth, combing hair and other activities contributing to personal hygiene and grooming.
• Academic skills like reading, writing, simple arithemetic.
• Social and self-help skills such as shopping, using public transport, and skills to aid group and interpersonal interaction.
• Pre-vocational skills such as tailoring, counting currency, and cutting vegetables.

It was Hyderabad cultural group who made us think on their drama of Hindu-Muslim conflicts. Good composing of all the scenes.

The concept was good. It was about how the politicians arises the religious differences in people. The conclusion of the story is the root cause of all the religious conflicts are none but the politicians...

The last programme was a dance by Tribal dance from Dandakaranya pupils. We invited the audience to join them in between hand in hand.

Within no time I ran to the stage to dance with them. However, I couldn't join the step as they do. But I enjoyed a lot :>

Actually, these tribals are from the Girijana Seema Welfare Association(GSWA). GSWA is a voluntary organization of engaged in tribal development for more than three decades. So many were there. Among these I& Eye was interesting. I & Eye a youth volunteers support the visually challenged children to have a better life and career prospects. I & Eye strives to inculcate positive thinking and self-confidence in the present lives of these challenged children.

• "Good Food" / "Mid-Day Meal" program
• Dental and Health Check-ups
• Arranging scribes to write the examinations for visually challenged kids
• Arranging voice recorders/cassettes and other educational necessities
• Distribution of Books/Stationary items-Clothes-Fruits/Snacks
• Flood Relief Activities
