Republic day

We were confused to select the winners of drawing competition, not because they are extraordinary but below than ordinary. Obviously, though pupils having passion in the field they don't have any training to encourage. Unfortunately, that is lacking in almost every Govt school. There is no drawing teacher in any of the Govt schools I visited. Pupils have different passions such as singing, dancing, painting, instrumental music, skating, swimming etc. We need to channelize these passions by giving good training instead of scolding them for not being topper in academics. I agree that few public and corporate schools do have these facilities. The question is how many pupils are pursuing in those schools, less than 20%; so, the rest 80% of the country’s pupils will go to these govt or private schools without any infrastructure. Although government issuing lakhs of funds for education, it’s not reaching to the pupils.

We gave them prizes on Republic Day...
